Workin' On My Fitness

work it outtttt, workout, workout clothes, workout gear, gym clothes,

For the past few weeks I have really been making an effort to hit the gym more. I am not sure if it is because I am prepping for my high school reunion or the fact that it's nice to get out of the house during the middle of the day, but either way, I have been looking for ways to get in shape and get out of my routine.

In the beginning, I went to a few crossfit classes but decided that they weren't ideal for me. I have tried barre classes, spin classes and running around the neighborhood. Well, yesterday, my friend Brittney decided to really kick my butt. We went swimming at the community pool down the road... and then she made me run up and down the bleachers at my old high school... over 50 times. Needless to say, I am sore today. So, instead of focusing on my pain, I decided to focus on cute workout gear that I need to get my butt into better shape.

After spending this past weekend out in the middle of the desert in Nevada, I came hope with a whole new appreciation for my home state. I spent the weekend at Night in the Country which is a weekend-long music festival full of camping, sunshine, music and drinks. It was my first time attending and I loved every minute of it. Even though we had to go days without showering, I would do it all over again in a heartbeat. I came home on Sunday morning to find this beautiful necklace in my mailbox... just one more thing to remind me about how much I love this place.

Closet Shopping

Top: Keep Tahoe Blue  Shorts: Old Navy similar here  Bag: Tory Burch (love this one on sale!)  Shoes: Bucketfeet  Watch: Michael Kors  Bracelets: Stella and Dot here and old  Sunglasses: Ray-Ban

Last week, I was out for coffee with a friend and we started talking about closed-toe shoes in the summer. I said that I really wanted a pair because I only own a few pairs of shoes that are not sandals or heels (I'm looking at you, workout shoes). After looking online for a cute new pair of Chuck Taylors, I realized that I ordered these shoes last summer and rarely took them out of the closet. I pulled them out immediately and loved they way they looked with shorts. Hopefully I will start wearing them more now that I have rediscovered them. Isn't shopping your own closet the best?

I am going to keep today's post extra short as I am planning out a weekend-long camping trip for a country music festival about an hour away. I pretty much wish I could wear this outfit all weekend long... with cowboy boots of course.

Have a great weekend!
